Sample Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,

An investigation of cleaning products used at Disney World found that over 20% of the cleaning products used at the park contain ingredients that are extremely hazardous, and over 75% pose some serious health risks.

Children and workers are at the greatest risk from exposures to these chemicals. Chemical exposures at an early age or in the womb can damage the developing brain and lead to brain disorders such as autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and mental retardation. It can also lead to an increased risk of developing Parkinson’s disease later in life.

Disney knows that these chemicals are dangerous, as they don’t use the most toxic chemicals around the animals in Animal Kingdom. But what about visiting children’s health? Disney should be a true leader and switch to the least toxic cleaning products to protect both their visitors and their staff as much as they do their animals.

Sincerely,
