Top Ten Ways to Take Action
1. Tell your friends about this campaign, and ask them to send this letter to Disney to make tourism healthy and safe.
2. Deliver this letter to the hotel manager when you visit Disney. For a list of green-cleaned hotels (including three Disney properties) check out the Florida Green Lodging program.
3. Join the Florida Alliance for Healthy Indoor Environments to get involved in advancing green cleaning in Florida schools and childcare centers. Check out the FAHIE resources.
4. Write a letter to the editor, a very effective way to spread the green cleaning message. Read a sample LTE.
5. Use your Consumer Power! Seek products that are fragrance free, biodegradable, phthalate-free and non-toxic. Download our Green Cleaning Guide for the Home for more information.
6. Help spread the word. Distribute this postcard and fact sheet to friends, family, schools and community members.
7. Form a Green Flag Team to involve students, parents and the school community in learning about environmental health issues like toxic cleaning products, and taking action to make your school safe and healthy.
8. Pass a green cleaning purchasing policy in your school, church, government, or company. Contact us for help developing strategies to get a policy passed. Check out the BE SAFE Precautionary Policy Clearinghouse to view model policies.
9. Educate yourself.
