The Center for Health, Environment and Justice is honored to have been awarded the 2007 four-star rating for sound fiscal management by Charity Navigator, the leading evaluator in America of charitable organizations. Charity Navigator is recognized by The Chronicle of Philanthropy, The New York Times, NPR and others for its methodological soundness in evaluating charities in receipt of public donations.
CHEJ’s mission to help people build democratic, community-based organizations, addressing public health and environmental threats is accomplished with donation dollars soundly spent according to Charity Navigator: “[The] Center for Health, Environment and Justice has earned our 4-star rating for its ability to efficiently manage and grow its finances.” (Charity Navigator, August, 2007).
Less than one quarter of the charities rated by Charity Navigator receive the 4 star rating – the highest rating possible. According to Charity Navigator, CHEJ “outperforms the majority of nonprofits in America with respect to fiscal responsibility…and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.”
